Stangl Pottery has a history of no less than 196 years. It’s founder, Samuel Hill used to produce storage crocks and jars, jars that were quite famous as they used to be made from the red earthenware clay from Flemmington. As the products soon begun to be very popular, in 1920 a new headquarters have been built for Stangl Pottery, fact that allowed them to produce even more items, but at a better quality.

Though, despite all the investments, in 1935 they had to sell their headquarters and move back into a smaller center. This was a tough period for them, as they were forced to maintain the quality – the Stangl Pottery was already known to be among the finest. As well, they were forced to restrain their selling activities to one single showroom. For the moment this was a clever movement for Stangl Pottery, as people from all over the country, and not only, used to come and look for bargains and pottery of a high quality. Though, this wasn’t enough to sustain the activity of the company.

From 1935 to 1978, the only showroom of Stangl Pottery was more of a tourist attraction point. As Stangl Pottery ceased its production in the late 70’s and they still had lots of items left in their stocks, they were forced to maintain the activity of the showroom. Though, in order to get rid as fast as possible of the stocks, they had to give lots of bargains, and even more, lots of promotions and deals, fact that attracted visitors from all the country, but only for a short period of time, until the finest pottery items got sold. Nowadays, the factory is closed, and so is the showroom, but the Stangl Pottery products can still be found on the Internet, especially on the online marketplaces, places where they are considered to be rare objects. This is why their price is somehow bigger then the normal retail prices. But after all, this is quite normal for any marketplace.

Stangl Pottery items can still be found on the market, even though the factory and their main aren’t functioning anymore. In fact, there are more than 30 years since Stangl Pottery has stopped it’s work; yet, their products, especially the jars made out of the red earthenware clay from Flemmington. Luckily, the collectors can still find Stang Pottery items on different online shops, or even on different marketplaces like ebay. Though, they are old not at their normal price, as they are considered to be rare and unique objects, fact that makes their owners to sell them at some very increased prices.

Though, if someone really wants to have some Stangl Pottery items, but they are restricted by a tight budget, they can go for the services of the antique stores, as with a little bit of luck, the collectors can find cheap Stangl Pottery items, items like Double Bluebirds, Gray Roosters, Red Faced Warbler and so on. As for their prices, they range from $10 t $299. For example, an used Stangl Pottery Salad Plate can cost as low as $10, while a new pair of goldfinches can go as high as $239.

Of course, the price for a Stangl Pottery Item depends of its stats, stats that are given by the item’s age, usage, number of copies in the lot, and so on. Of course, there is also the variant of buying from private sellers, and not from reputed shops or marketplaces, but if they choose to go for the items of a private seller, then the buyer expose themselves to a major risk: the Stangl Pottery items that they will be given in exchange to some important amounts of money, might not be authentic, as it is known that there are fake models circulating through the market. And because all the major shops and reputed sellers are offering among seriousness, and a authenticity certificate, it is recommended to buy from them, even though the Stangl Pottery items might be a little bit more expensive.
